Initially, when I was thinking what I should say in my speech, I came up with some really mad ideas! Luckily, I didn’t just go with my initial thoughts, as that would have been a huge mistake. I needed quite a lot of help to begin with, to really understand Groom speeches and what needs to be included to create a successful.
Really good Groom speeches make sure that no-one is left out, from the oldest guest to the very youngest. If you make everyone feel important, then you won’t go too far wrong. It took me a while to realise this, but basically a successful wedding day all boils down to keeping everyone happy!
Who should you show your appreciation for? A good tip when writing the speech is to make sure you thank all the really important people in your life. This may include the Best Man, friends, colleagues, teachers and your wonderful Bride of course! Also, include the Father of the Bride as he will probably have some words to say about you as well, so it is definitely worth putting in a good word for him. Make a note to thank him personally before continuing with the remainder of the speech.
A good tip is to include the tale about how you met your wonderful Bride. It’s something everyone will enjoy and the best Groom speeches seem to include this, as a way of sharing something personal with everyone who has travelled to be with you on your Wedding Day. After that I suggest including some stories and appreciation of your family. Your Wedding is a very important day, for you and your bride, but also for your family as it marks a new chapter in all your lives. Your wedding is a wonderful opportunity to show them how much they mean to you and what an important part they still play in your life.
It is important to remember that whilst your Wedding Day symbolises the love between you and your Bride, it is also an occasion to share that love with family and friends. Whilst you may be nervous about making the speech, if you include these points then you will not go too far wrong as the best Groom speeches always seem to incorporate them, because they work!. You really can keep everybody happy if you follow these steps!
