Talk About It
This year’s World Cup is being hosted in South Africa and many are saying Spain, Brazil, Argentina and England are the favourites. Spain and Brazil are definitely one fo the contenders but not sure about the others and don’t ever count the Germans out. Spain and Brazil are great passing teams and from what I have seen so far I feel the pitch suits the passing team rather than the long ball team. As soon as you play long ball you can see that the ball is skids through and there is no way anyone can catch it.
England have a passing game but the problem is they don’t have any belief in themselves and always panic in big tournaments. The problem with England is before they score the first goal they play quite well and defend well but then as soon as they score they fall back and just want to defend. After scoring they just tend to go on long ball mode and expect someone like Defoe to hold it, it he plays of course. This is not going to work in these pitches in South Africa.
Argentine do not have the similar type of team from 1986 but they are still a very strong side. Though they do have a genius called Lionel Messi. In the first game against Nigeria he was brilliant shame he didn’t score a goal because the Keeper of Nigeria made some brilliant saves. If Argentina can play like they did in 1986 then Messi can take the role of Maradona and they can definitely do well in this tournament. Who know what can happen?
I am a amateur online poker player and for the World cup I have given playing poker till the tournament lasts and back England. I have won few Full tilt poker & PKR poker tournaments in the past so I really should be addicted to poker but this month I am giving all this.

The Spaniard, Nadal is still only 24 and he has already won his 8th Grand Slam titles. People were talking about whether he will be able to be as strong as he was before his knee operation and now he has proven that he is fit and playing well than ever by winning the Wimbledon and the French Open recently. The guy is a genius. Thousands of promotional merchandise were produced after his win at Wimbledon and also the football team’s semi final spot, if you visit Spain at this time you will see how excited they are about tennis and football. It looks like it will be Spain’s year but can Holland and Germany upset the odds, who knows.
The start of the Wimbledon this year was fantastic. In the first week of Wimbledon there were some great matches played. Unseeded players playing for proud and giving a lot of top seeds massive problems. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal both had tough 5 set matches in the first week. We also had a marathon of a match between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut. Their match was the longest match in the history of tennis let alone Wimbledon. Isner eventually beat Mahut 70-68 in the fifth set.
The weather also didn’t let the tournament down. Rain didn’t play any part in this year’s tournament, which was a big surprise, which didn’t happen since 1995. No rain in London? Surprising isn’t it? 2 weeks of Wimbledon ended last sunday and there was a new champion from the name of Rafael Nadal who took over the crown won by Federer last year, it was a good final but Nadal was just superb and beat Berdych by 3 sets to 0.
That is why all the Spanish fans these days are wearing corporate clothing of Rafael Nadal’s wimbledon crown and wishing him all the best for US Open. Even I have bought some promotional pens, which clearly says Rafa is the best well not literally. I know few people who would love me to bits, if I give these away as a gift to them.
Some people have already started saying this was the best Wimbledon ever, but what do you think?
